Course
Completion Certificates
Overview When a student has mastered all the units within a course, either through the Skill Assessment section or through the course, he or she will see a Certificate button on the course Scores page. The student can then print a certificate that displays he or she has mastered the course. Customizable Mastery Level
The
course administrator has the option to set a specific mastery level before a
student can gain access to the ability to print completion certificates.
The administrator sets the mastery level and the student must reach it in
order for the Certificate option to appear on the Scores page. The default
mastery level is set at 70%. Achieving Mastery through Skill Assessment and/or
Courses
To
achieve mastery of a course, a student must achieve mastery for each unit.
This can be done by correctly answering questions in that unit within the
course or by correctly answering the questions for that unit in the Skill
Assessment. A student’s ability
to print a certificate is based on achieving mastery in a particular unit
regardless of whether it was achieved in Skill Assessment, the questions
within the course, or a combination of both.
Accessing the Certificate Option
The Certificate option is accessed only from the Scores page. The Scores page is available from the Navigate menu, from the last page of the Skill Assessment, and from the last page of the course. Certificate Content
When a student has mastered a course or
skill assessment, the student clicks on the Scores page where a Certificate
button appears. The student has the
option of two certificate styles, classic and jazzy. After the student chooses a style, the certificate is
generated automatically, filling in the name of the student (from the assigned
ID), the course title, and the date of completion.
Certificates also print an electronic signature of Carol Clark, President
and CEO of MindLeaders. Printing Certificates
Certificates can be printed through a browser window by accessing the File menu and selecting Print from the drop-down menu. Students have the option to print certificates. The course administrator cannot print certificates; nor can the administrator turn off the ability for certificates to be printed by students. To print actual scores received, a student can simply print the Scores page. How Turning Off Simulations Affects Ability to
Achieve Course Mastery
If an administrator turns off the simulation feature, a student will receive questions instead of simulations within the Skill Assessment and course. This allows students to achieve mastery level even if they cannot run simulations.
